Objective and
Rationale:
Tasked with designing pavilions for Langara’s Common Field, my goal was to extend the college’s ethos, enrich student experiences, and facilitate community engagement.
The Langara Pavilion's design integrates the site's unique characteristics, emphasizing community and creativity. Positioned adjacent to the main pedestrian route, it ensures visibility and accessibility, while utilizing natural features like an in-ground fireplace to enhance appeal and functionality. The pavilion's design blends modern aesthetics with natural elements, offering diverse experiences such as a café, outdoor seating, and gallery spaces, all aimed at fostering connection and collaboration within the campus community.
